Professional Ethics DefenseA significant portion of Attorney David C. Barry’s practice involves advising, defending and consulting with mental health professionals concerning their ethical obligations and responsibilities. He has advised and represented a variety of mental health professionals in ethics matters, including social workers, marriage and family therapists, licensed professional counselors and psychologists, among others.

Mr. Barry draws upon his extensive knowledge of and experience with professional ethics in the mental health arena. As an adjunct professor at Rutgers School of Social Work and as a popular presenter of continuing education courses, Mr. Barry has taught law, ethics and related topics to thousands of mental health professionals throughout New Jersey. As Chair of the National Ethics Committee of the National Association of Social Workers, Mr. Barry possesses unique insight into both the Code of Ethics and the adjudication of complaints involving the Code.
